Belated Drabble Night Post [28 Jul 2004|12:09am]
Drabble Night this Monday was absolutely wonderful. We had three new people and a total of five sets of drabbles, and if I wasn't about to go off to bed I'd be a lot more verbose in my welcomes, etc, at this point. But I am. So yes. Where was I? Oh, yes, and, best of all, the end result of our evening was fabulous; honestly, these drabbles were thrilling to read. I had to duck out early, so I only did four, but the rest of the group was phenomenal, just phenomenal.

So, without further ado (because I am very very tired):

The theme was PAIN/ILLNESS, and the challenges were...

Round 1: Remus/Regulus - Poisioning, Ron/Neville - Crucio, Ron/Bill - Essence of Murtlap

Round 2: Harry/Remus - Raw, Remus/Severus - Dissociative Identity Disorder, Harry/Ron - Heartache

Round 3: Remus/Harry - Burnt Fingers, Percy/Draco - Rugburn, Remus/Hermione - That time of the month

Round 4: Snape/Lucius - Hallucinations, Sirius/Remus/Regulus - Nightmares, Lucius/Draco - Delusions

annnnd, finally...

Round 5: Regulus/Voldemort - Ebola virus, Tom/Harry - "In hawks, hounds, arms, and love, for one pleasure a thousand pains", Bellatrix/Ginny - Sleep deprivation

I'd post my own as well but my goodness I'm exhausted! Anyway, they're all on the links above anyway, so read them all! I assure you it will be time well wasted. :D

And speaking of time well wasted, a reminder that [info]queerditch_pub is reaching the end of its first Weeklong Drabble Challenge, a trial run for an idea we'd like to pimp to all present members of the community, as well as to all watchers. Yes, that means YOU. You have until MIDNIGHT TONIGHT to get your first challenge in, if you're interested, and, as always, comments and criticism are more than welcome, so tell us what you do/don't like about the idea! Tell us how to improve!

Right. Off to bed for me now. One final note, so I don't forget; just a general squee in the direction of those new people who've friended me. Heya! Hope my insanity serves you well!

That's it, then. G'night, all! Sleep (and slash) tight!

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone for their profuse and VERY kind comments on my most recent fic, and to thank everyone who recced it as well.

There are a few words, when used in reviews, that remind me of everything I strive for in my writing. When people tell me what I'm writing - especially in fanfiction - is "real" or "true", I feel no higher praise can possibly be given. It's beyond words, how satisfying that feels (though at the same time it does makes me wonder if I'll ever manage such a feat again!), and I am grateful, really and truly grateful, to all those who responded and recced my wee little fic.

I don't think you've made my ego swell to dangerous proportions, for, again, I fear I won't be able to manage such a repeat performance, but all these very kind words have done a great deal to remind me why I write at all, or rather what I've always been striving for in my prose. And for that, I thank you. You're all wonderful, and I'll bust the lip of anyone who says our fandom is a violent and threatening place. :D
